PART 2

Notice is given in accordance with section 15(1) of the Education Inspections Act 2006 that the London Borough of Barking & Dagenham, Town Hall, 1 Town Square, Barking IG11 7LU intends to discontinue the following school on 30th August 2019:

  1. Marks Gate Infant School, Lawn Farm Grove, Chadwell Heath, Romford, RM6 5LL

Statutory consultation requirements relating to this proposal have been complied with.

It is proposed that all pupils attending Marks Gate Infant and Junior Schools at the time of its closure will transfer onto the roll of the Primary School (see Part 1).  Admission may also be sought to other schools which have places available.  The closure of the aforementioned school will not have any effect on car usage as the same location for the primary school will be used and the current school travel plan will continue to promote the reduction of unnecessary car use.

This notice is an extract from the complete proposal.  The complete proposal can be obtained from the Commissioning Director for Education, London Borough of Barking and Dagenham, Town Hall, 1 Town Square, Barking IG11 7LU or by contacting Janet Caliste on 0208 227 3152 or by emailing janet.caliste@lbbd.gov.uk.  The document can also be found on the website www.lbbd.gov.uk/school-admissions.

Within four weeks from the date of publication of these proposals, any person may object to or make comments on the proposals by sending them to the Commissioning Director for Education (address as above).

Notes

1. Following the amalgamation of the schools, the number of 39 part time equivalent pupil places in the nursery will remain the same in the newly formed Primary School.

2. The proposals within this notice are linked and therefore reliant on each other.

3. The newly formed primary school:

  • will retain its junior school LA/DfE number and unique reference number and pupils of the closing infant school (see Part 2 above) will have amendments to existing registrations etc. when they join the primary school.
